Welcome to the Borough of Bryn Athyn

Bryn Athyn is a tiny jewel tucked in suburban Montgomery County, just outside of Northeast Philadelphia. 1.9 square miles of mostly open space, Bryn Athyn is an oasis in the suburbs. Originally part of Moreland Township, in 1916 Bryn Athyn leaders petitioned the Commonwealth to become an independent community.  The Township of Moreland was then divided into Upper Moreland Township, Bryn Athyn Borough and Lower Moreland Township. Bryn Athyn became a Home Rule Municipality in 1979.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

CELEBRATION

2022

The annual Independence Day celebration in Bryn Athyn will take place on Saturday, July 2nd due to permit limitations for fireworks. The hope is to celebrate our nation’s birthday in one continuous day of festivities as we have done in the past.

The Academy has again graciously provided their grounds for a number of these festivities.

Reserved parking for the elderly and handicapped is on both sides of Mitchell Performing Arts Center. All others should park at the Asplundh Field House or Heilman Hall.

They cannot take the shots back out of the tubes once they are loaded.

Fireworks are fully funded by donations only. Donations can be made payable to “Bryn Athyn Borough Fireworks” and sent to Borough Hall, Box 917, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009 or drop off a check at the Borough Office Please send money to “Bryn Athyn Borough Fireworks” at PO Box 917 Bryn Athyn, PA 19009 or drop off a check at the Borough Office (there is a locked drop-off box just outside the door).
